More than 400,000 cases of traumatic brain injury (TBI) have been reported among veterans over the past 20 years. The most common causes include explosions from bombs or IEDs, vehicle accidents, and being struck with shrapnel or other objects. In many cases, veterans experience multiple TBIs during their service, which compounds the problem. Typical TBI symptoms include chronic headaches, insomnia, anxiety, emotional problems, memory loss, impaired concentration, and depression. While some veterans recover from TBI within a few months, many suffer long-term debilitating effects.

Though neurofeedback therapy does not repair physical damage to the brain, it can be used to effectively re-train it and improve overall function. By creating new neural pathways in the brain, it can help decrease symptoms of TBI.

TBI and Brain Mapping

Non-invasive and painless, neurofeedback therapy uses qEEG brain mapping, which takes a snapshot of the brain to identify areas that are not functioning properly. The results then provide a blueprint for reproducing healthy connections and pathways in the brain. Using bio-sensors that are placed on the head, it picks up brain signals and produces feedback to help teach the brain to work better.

Even if the damage occurred years ago, neurofeedback therapy can still be successful. In addition to brain mapping, our experts can help you develop a holistic plan to improve your cognition and brain function, so you feel like yourself again. Using this therapy, it’s possible to reduce headaches and improve your concentration, memory, and sleep.
